How can I be sure it will work for me?
There's no single "right" way to train. Getting stronger will contribute to better athleticism... Unless you can deadlift 3x your bodyweight. In your initial assessment I look for your biggest limiting factors. The things that, if improved, would contribute to the biggest performance gains. That becomes the focus of the program until you stop seeing consistent results from it and it's time to switch paths.
What results can I expect to see?
The speed in which you will see results will vary based on your training history and many other factors. If this is your first time doing a quality, long-term program you can expect to see much faster results than if you've been professionally coached for years. As for what exactly will improve, I first and foremost place emphasis on making sure you stay healthy. This means the workouts are meant to avoid positions and stresses that could cause an injury, while building a resilient body that's less likely to be injured while you're on the court. Then, I'm dialled in on whatever your individual goal is because ultimately that's why you're here, right? Generally, you can also expect to see healthier feeling joints, increased speed and explosiveness, improved conditioning, and full body strength and muscle building (where necessary).
What if I don't see results?
In the case that progress is absent, or even subpar, at the end of a month of training I first analyze the program. Were you unable to make progress in key exercises? Did you improve on a key exercise but not see performance benefits? If the answer is yes I would then make adjustments to the plan for the following month.
